“Bonfire” is our Open Mic Nights and always a special event. Established in 2013, we have hosted a wide range of performances so far. No matter if you want to sing a song, recite a poem, show your short film or try out your comedy routine, at Bonfire @ Desire you can let all your creativity out in front of an art-loving and supportive audience. Entrance is free, but we are asking for a gold coin donation to keep our expenses covered. So, if you do not want to perform you can just come by and see the future of Sydney’s art scene live and in colour.
Bonfire happens every last Tuesday of the month from 7.30pm on. Registering is not essential. Just come half an hour before the event starts and let us know that you would like to perform. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Learn How to Act
The Fundamentals of Acting
– A six-week course on the core principles of acting
This course lays the foundation to being an actor. Over the six weeks you will learn the fundamentals on how to be connected, specific and immediate through every moment; develop a deep and accessible means to analyse scripts; celebrate your individuality and all the while retain a sense of joy, humour and abandon. This class suits professional actors eager to revitalise their approach, as well as complete beginners who want to learn from the ground up. Actor and teacher Mike Booth brings a unique perspective that cuts to the very essence of what it means to perform. With a focus on the primary tools of communication, Mike’s approach employs a practical, logical and philosophical system enabling the student to understand acting with immediate results.
